Digital Features: Bakelite phones come-back
Hulger has launched the 23rd of November its 2 new phones : PIP*PHONE and PENELOPE*PHONE.
The PENELOPE*PHONE echoes the famous Bakelite phones of the 30’s. These phones, restricted by the material’s brittleness, could never become the flowing, sensual objects they meant to be. By the time technology caught up, the trend had moved on to the harder, squarer shapes considered progressive at the time. HULGER have therefore returned to these essential forms of the 30’s, to resolve their unfinished business.
The PIP*PHONE is brutally simple. It echoes 80’s style, but affords even cleaner lines by dropping fussy functionality. A speaker, a microphone, a button and a flat, slim body. Nothing else is required.
PIP*PHONE available in Black & Yellow, Black & Amp, Black or Black & White,
PENELOPE*PHONE available in Black, Maroon or Ivory.
